I would echo what you said at the end and urge you to try a Unicomp Customizer or Space Saver keyboard as well; I wrote a somewhat long review of the former here. I haven't tried to Majestouch but understand the Customizer to be considerably louder, though with better tactile feel.

Filco majestouch is good. I own one. But I also have a TVS Gold which is clicky, is atleast as good as the FILCO and costs less than $30. TVS Gold uses the same cherry switches used by Filco for their clicky keyboards.

One more keyboard to try is Unicomp's Endurapro (http://pckeyboards.stores.yahoo.net/en104wh.html), they make new keyboards based on the Model M. Haven't tried it yet, but if I ever go desktop again I'm getting that. Before I went latop-only it was all Model Ms.
